About Roote
Roote is bus stop asset management software for public transit agencies, built in Atlanta by Roote Transit, LLC, a Georgia limited liability company.
What Roote does
Every transit agency is responsible for a network of bus stops and the assets at them: shelters, benches, signs, lighting, trash cans and digital displays, whether the agency, a city or an advertising contractor owns and maintains each one. Roote keeps one record for each stop and each asset, with everything that has ever happened to it: the work orders, the close-out photos, the documents, the correspondence and the decisions behind them.
Planners find the full history of a stop in seconds. Supervisors route work orders to the right technician and verify the work was done. Technicians work from a mobile queue and close out jobs with photos. Managers see the age and condition of every asset across the network, with the data to plan replacements and capital spend.
Who Roote is for
Roote is for any public transit agency that holds its bus stops to a high standard: kept in a state of good repair, and clean, safe and working for the riders who use them. The stop is where a rider meets the system, and the shelter, bench, sign and lighting they find there are the network they judge.
Roote is a purpose-built bus stop asset management system for transit agencies. Organized around bus stops, routes and the assets at each stop, it is specifically tailored to the needs of transit agencies. Agencies bring their existing stops in from GTFS, and the Roote team migrates existing asset data, so the system is useful from the first day.
Why we built it
Roote's founder spent years working in public transit, went looking for a quality bus stop asset management platform, and found none. Roote Transit was founded in Atlanta in 2026 to build it.
Agencies invest millions in bus stop infrastructure and then manage it with tools that were never designed for it. Records fragment across email chains and spreadsheets, institutional knowledge leaves with the person who holds it, and a question as simple as "when was this shelter installed?" takes an afternoon of detective work. Roote exists so that the answer is one search away, with the evidence attached.
